Ruth specialises across the wide spectrum of Personal Injury and clinical negligence law with a particular emphasis on serious injury work.
Ruth acts for both claimants and defendants in cases arising from RTA’s, EL & PL and cases of negligent surgery and misdiagnosis.
Ruth accepts instructions in multi-track and fast track cases, public inquiries, inquests, stage 3 hearings, interlocutory hearings and costs and case management conferences.
Ruth has a strong background in serious injury, having worked on very high value cases as legal assistant to Gerard McDermott QC. Ruth assisted Mr McDermott on cases of huge importance including Royal Bank of Scotland v AB [2021] EWCA Civ 345, in which the Claimant received the highest award ever made in a disability discrimination claim, and the Grenfell Tower personal injury litigation.
Ruth has also worked as Legal Services Manager at a medico-legal and case management agency. This role relied on forensic analysis of expert reports and an understanding of the needs of people who have suffered serious, life changing injuries.
Ruth’s user friendly approach enables her to build long lasting relationships and helps her stand out as a real team player.
Away from PI and Clinical Negligence Ruth also specialises in civil law. Specifically; property and possession; data breach, housing and insurance law.
Outside of the Bar, Ruth enjoys live music, playing volleyball and travel.
