Michael joined 18 St John Street having successfully completed pupillage here under the supervision of Elisabeth Tythcott (1989 call). During pupillage Michael had a broad exposure to a range of high-value and complex chancery and commercial matters.

As a member of the chancery and commercial department, Michael has developed an advisory and court-based practice predominantly in property, landlord and tenant, bankruptcy and insolvency (both personal and corporate), company and partnership, probate and trusts (including TOLATA work and financial remedy proceedings), contract (consumer and commercial), sale of goods and consumer credit matters.

He is also a member of the regulatory department and, having taught and studied JR and EU law to a high level, he is well placed to advise on related regulatory matters.

Before joining Chambers, he worked in various fields, notably for a European and a domestic politician and later at King's College, London, where he taught public law and judicial review.

He speaks French and Spanish and has a good grounding in European and commercial law generally.

Michael delivers CPD accredited seminars on a wide range of topics ranging from business tenancies to personal insolvency law.
