In response to the recent Criminal Bar Association Ballot in relation to industrial action, 18 St John Street Chambers makes the following statement:
Following the Independent Criminal Legal Aid Review undertaken by Sir Christopher Bellamy and subsequent announcement on 15th March 2022 by the Government, 18 St John Street’s Criminal Department supports the Criminal Bar Association and fellow members of the Northern Circuit in adopting a no returns policy from the 11th April 2022 until further notice.
The CBA issued their “No returns guidance 2022” on 18th March, 18 St John Street Chambers will adopt this policy.
