Betsy Hindle secured not guilty verdicts in a trial at Manchester Crown Court earlier this week, following all charges being withdrawn from the jury.
A 21-year-old male was accused of Affray and Possession of a Bladed Article in a Public Place following a large scale incident in Oldham in August 2025.
After a short trial at Manchester Crown Square, the jury returned Not Guilty verdicts on the direction of the Judge to do so. This came after the prosecution conceded they were not able to rebut the defence raised, following conclusion of all the evidence in the case. Such action is only taken in the most exceptional of circumstances.
