18 St John Street Chambers are delighted to announce the promotion of three members of our Criminal Department within the Crown Prosecution Service Advocate Panel rankings.
The Crown Prosecution Service Advocate Panel provides a list of quality assured advocates to undertake criminal prosecutions for the CPS in the Crown Court and higher courts.
In December 2025, it has been announced that Betsy Hindle and Niamh McGinty are now ranked as Level 3 CPS Advocates, and Georgia Kennedy-Curnow is ranked as a Level 2 CPS Advocate.
The CPS states that “The aim of the Panel is to appoint barristers who have met the selection criteria which show that they have relevant, up to date skills and experience. These appointments must be able to deliver high quality prosecution services and have the commitment to meet all aims and objectives of the CPS, this also includes their technical ability, attitude and behaviours which, in turn, will ensure their advocacy is delivered at the highest possible standard.“

A searchable list of prosecution panel advocates is available from the CPS on the following webpage: https://cps.outsystemsenterprise.com/AdvocatePanel_CBU/Advocates.aspx

Betsy joined chambers in September 2022 after completing her pupillage in October 2020 with another Manchester set. Betsy has developed a busy criminal practice, both prosecuting and defending. Her practice spans all areas and levels of crime including sexual offences, drugs, violence, fraud and firearms.

Niamh specialises in all areas of criminal law, and welcomes instructions for both prosecution and defence. She maintains a busy practice across a broad range of offences, including drug production and supply, fraud, firearms, domestic violence, and serious sexual and violent offences.

Georgia completed her pupillage under the supervision of Paul Treble and, upon successful completion of her pupillage, she accepted a tenancy at 18 St John Street Chambers in 2025. She welcomes instructions in criminal and employment law.
