KANE SIMONS WRITES COVER ARTICLE ON E-BIKES FOR JANUARY PI FOCUS MAGAZINE

15th Jan 2026

Kane Simons’ article examining the impact of the rise in illegal e-bikes on personal injury claims is the cover feature of the January 2026 edition of PI Focus, the magazine of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL).

The rapid growth of illegal e-bikes is creating significant challenges for personal injury practitioners, insurers and the courts, as claims arising from their use continue to increase. This emerging issue is the focus of growing legal and professional attention.

Kane is a recognised expert in the law relating to electric scooters and electric bikes. In 2022, he published A Practical Guide to the Law and Regulation of E-Bikes and E-Scooters, which clearly and accessibly set out the legal and regulatory framework governing their use. Since then, he has delivered numerous presentations and spoken at a range of seminars on the subject.
