LAURA BRIGGS APPOINTED QUEEN’S COUNSEL

23rd Dec 2021

Chambers is delighted to announce that Laura Briggs is to be appointed as Queen’s Counsel. Laura is a Family Law specialist based at 1GC Family Law, London, as well as being a door tenant here at 18 St John Street Chambers, Manchester.

Laura was called in 2001 and was a pupil at 18, where she then practised for 10 years before moving to the Cayman Islands and finally to London. Head of Chambers, Richard Chapman QC, said “We are all delighted that Laura has taken Silk. It is very much deserved and we look forward to seeing her career continue to go from strength to strength.”

Yvonne Healing, Laura’s pupil supervisor in Chambers added Laura Briggs was a shining star from the very start of her career. Always magnificently prepared for her cases, and approaching her work with a calm determination. Her talent as a lawyer never overshadowed her sense of fairness and kindness towards both her lay clients and other advocates. Well done Laura.
