MICHAEL BRADY DEFENDS WOMAN WHO FORCED CHILDREN TO EAT CHILLI SAUCE AS A PUNISHMENT

3rd Jul 2019

Michael Brady defended a woman who forced children to eat homemade chilli sauce and whose co-accused was a prison officer who threatened to chop their hands off with a replica sword.

The Manchester Evening News reports that the defendant admitted forcing two children—aged seven and nine at the time—to eat chilli sauce as a punishment as well as pointing a blade at them whilst they tidied their room.

Judge John Edwards commented on the case: “It was cruel in the extreme, causing significant emotional and psychological harm at a very impressionable age. I would be failing my duty if I didn’t mark this with custody.”
