NICK HARRISON AND MILLICENT NORTH HEAD TO MANCHESTER MARATHON

24th Mar 2026

Nick Harrison and Millicent North are both set to run the 2026 Adidas Manchester Marathon.

The arrival of spring heralds Marathon season – that point of the year when runners discover whether their months of winter training have truly paid off. For 18 St John Street’s Nick Harrison and Millicent North, all roads lead to 19 April 2026, when they take on the UK’s second largest marathon for two worthy causes.

Nick Harrison is running the Manchester Marathon in aid of Bowel Research UK. This is his first marathon but he is aiming for a fast target time. He says of the challenge:

“Bowel Research UK is a charity of importance to me, having lived with ulcerative colitis (UC) since the age of 16. Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) affect over 500,000 people in the UK. Most cases are diagnosed between the ages of 15 and 35.

Whilst IBDs are often referred to as ‘silent’ illnesses, serious cases can lead to invasive surgery and treatment. Living with an IBD can be very challenging indeed. Public awareness and understanding is very important to those of us who navigate life with an IBD.

Bowel Research UK relies on fundraising for the purposes of clinical trials, education, and support for IBD sufferers.

I am therefore delighted to be supporting Bowel Research UK by running the Manchester Marathon on 19 April 2026. Any donations will be much appreciated.”

Millicent North is running the Manchester Marathon in aid of the Child Brain Injury Trust. The Child Brain Injury Trust (CBIT) is the UK’s premier charity dedicated to childhood-acquired brain injury support. 18 St John Street has been proud to support the charity over the years.

Millicent said: “I am delighted to be running the Manchester Marathon this year for CBIT in support of the vital work they do.

CBIT support families and professionals working with children and young people who have been affected by acquired brain injury. They work in hospitals, school and in the community and provide a listening ear, alongside practical and emotional support. At the centre of CBIT’s work are the families they support; and I’d love to raise as much as possible to ensure that CBIT is able to continue to provide such important services.”
