Olivia Edwards was delighted to attend Spen Valley High School yesterday, to share insight into her personal journey towards a career at the Bar.
Olivia attended Spen Valley High School with fellow Barristers Samantha Buckley and Gabi Ashby to share her personal story, with the hope of inspiring a new generation of lawyers.
In her role with the Equality & Diversity Social Mobility Committee on the Northern Circuit, Olivia helps deliver outreach events and mentoring in schools, youth clubs and organisations. This presentation was one of a programme of such events – you can read more from a previous event here: https://www.18sjs.com/olivia-edwards-returns-to-school/.
During the presentations, pupils and young people are offered the opportunity to hear from – and question -established professionals on pathways into the legal profession. The events can often lead to shadowing and mentoring opportunities in chambers.
