Amber practises exclusively in the fields of personal injury and costs law with a particular emphasis on serious injury claims.

Amber represents claimants and defendants at all stages, from first advice through to case conclusion in the following areas:

  • – Road traffic
  • – Employer, occupiers’ and public liability claims
  • – Travel and International Injury
  • – Insurance Fraud
  • – Claims against the Police
  • – Prison Law
  • – Inquests & coronial law
  • – Court of Protection
  • – Costs

Amber has also developed a busy paperwork practice, both advisory and drafting, and will accept instructions on a Conditional Fee basis where appropriate.

She has an excellent working knowledge of all relevant pre-action protocols and Civil Procedure Rules. She is well-versed in the new Fixed Costs Regime and Intermediate Track and has a particular expertise in claims concerning non-compliance with rules/protocols and associated costs arguments.

Amber has a growing International Travel law practice having significant experience in civil actions following accidents abroad and breach of contract claims against tour operators.  She has a good working knowledge of the Package Travel Regulations as well as the Athens and Montreal Convention.

Before joining chambers, Amber gained valuable experience working in the personal injury and insurance litigation departments of various leading firms, including BLM (now Clyde & Co) and Horwich Farrelly. Amber has almost 20 years’ experience in the PI sector having started working in 2004. She later qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2010 and was called to the Bar in 2016 when she joined 18 St John Street Chambers.

Prior to being called to the Bar, Amber supervised a team of specialist lawyers handling fast track and multi-track claims on behalf of the Motor Insurers’ Bureau. This work involved inherently technical legal and indemnity issues, providing her with a very useful insight into claims of this nature.

Amber’s varied experience sees her as a popular choice with instructing solicitors. She is highly regarded for her accessible and responsive approach, as well as her ability to work as a team with her instructing solicitors and see a case from the client and solicitors’ perspective.
