Hugh undertakes civil work, focusing on costs and a broad spectrum of personal injury work, including employers’ liability, occupiers’ liability, public liability, road traffic accidents (including LVI and fraudulent claims), credit hire claims, MIB claims, criminal injuries compensation claims, industrial injury and disease.

He accepts instructions to represent both Claimants and Defendants and advises on quantum, liability and evidence, as well as drafting pleadings and other documents. Paperwork can be returned in any required format though in the first instance instructing solicitors will receive papers by email as a matter of course.

Hugh appears in court at all stages of fast and multi-track litigation, from pre-action applications through to trials and appeals. His costs practice includes technical arguments, attending detailed assessment hearings and summary assessments, and drafting skeleton arguments.

Hugh also accepts instructions to represent interested parties at Coroner’s Inquests.

As well as privately funded and legal expenses insurance work, Hugh accepts instructions on a Conditional Fee basis.
