We are proud to announce that 18 St John Street Chambers has been shortlisted for the Legal 500 Bar Awards 2024.
Our category is the award for best regional Chambers in the country, with the winner being crowned “Set Outside of London”. Ten sets of Chambers have been included on the shortlist, of which four are based in Manchester.
This nomination is further recognition of the strength and depth within our Chambers. In the last few months alone, two of our members have appeared in the Privy Council, one in the Supreme Court, and three in the Court of Appeal (the Court of Appeal hearing being one of The Lawyer magazine’s top ten appeals of the year).
Chambers Director, James Parks, said, “It is an honour to be shortlisted for this national award, which is recognition of the excellent service we strive to provide. We wish all those nominated the very best of luck in their respective categories and look forward to celebrating the achievements of the bar in September.”
Head of Chambers, Richard Chapman KC, said, “It is a privilege to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award. It is also great to see so many of our friends in other Chambers on the Northern Circuit nominated for this award and in other categories, showcasing the strength of our region.”
The awards ceremony takes place in London on 25 September 2024. Details about the awards can be found here: The Legal 500 Bar Awards
The Legal 500 is a legal directory which analyses the capabilities of lawyers, law firms and chambers with a comprehensive research programme, the results of which form their updated rankings each year.
The directory states that the annual Bar Awards “seek to recognise chambers as a whole across England and Wales, as well as all people within them. The awards are determined on merit alone, based on Legal 500’s market-leading independent research, conducted by over 25 in-house and freelance researchers with in-depth knowledge of their practice areas”.
