Our specialist costs team offers representation and advice to solicitors, costs draftsmen or directly to clients (on a public access basis) on all manner of costs disputes and proceedings between parties to litigation or solicitors and their clients. They offer extensive advocacy services, as well as advisory and drafting services – working when advantageous to do so with recommended costs-draftsman – to provide comprehensive assistance in recovering costs for receiving parties or minimising liabilities for paying parties.
Our members have a broad range of expertise in diverse areas of law – including tax law, PI, clinical negligence, planning and judicial review, and all manner of property and business law – and they appear regularly on lengthy, high value or complex detailed assessment hearings or at provisional assessment hearings, as well as in the Supreme Court Costs Office, or in complicated or high value Case and Cost Management Hearings. Members also have extensive drafting expertise, was well as particular expertise in disputes involving fixed costs in personal injury matters.
